Arcserve 6.1 and restoring of data

I am backing up with a HP dds 4 tape drive the backup[s appear to go through with out any problems\errors. But when I try and restore the data the first session will restore fine, but any sessions after the first,and the job fails.
The restore job sits on locating and then reports the job failed.

If I backup using a dds 3 tape drive I am able to backup and restore without any problems.

Any assistance would be great
