I am having a huge problem with ArcServe. For some reason ArcServe for Workgroup won't start at all. I've used the wizard to start the job but it still won't run. All the engine have a green light and still no go. Here is a copy of the log:
20031203 200540 JOB N1401 Job status changed. (JOBID=1, OLD=READY, NEW=READY)
20031203 200647 TAPE Starting dynamic grouping
20031203 200649 TAPE Dynamic grouping info updated
20031203 210016 JOB N1401 Job status changed. (JOBID=1, OLD=READY, NEW=HOLD)
20031203 210103 JOB N1401 Job status changed. (JOBID=1, OLD=HOLD, NEW=READY)
20031203 210105 JOB N1401 Job status changed. (JOBID=1, OLD=READY, NEW=HOLD)
20031203 210113 JOB N1401 Job status changed. (JOBID=1, OLD=HOLD, NEW=READY)
20031203 210127 JOB N1401 Job status changed. (JOBID=1, OLD=READY, NEW=READY)

As you can see it looks good, and the time is good on the clock. I even have go to the Server Admin (Quick Access) and click on the security and putting in the password. Please advise on what this newbie should do. TIA

First try running a Count job. If that also does not run then the problem is in the Job Engine. Try restarting the Job Engine, if the jobs still don't run try restarting the server.

If the Cound Job works then the problem is in the Tape Engine. Go to the Device Manager window of ARCserve and check the status of the Tape Engine. If there is a tape in the driver, remove it and then try restarting the Tape Engine.
