Hi all,

I have recently installed an Exchange 2003 server on a customers site who runs Arcserve 2000 (WG). I purchased the Exchange agent but the only one I could get was the Brightstor 11 agent. I tried to install just the agent but the setup program forced me to install the base manager of Brightstor 11 rendering my ARCserve 2000 installation useless. I'm now in a situation where Brightstor 11 (base) is not registered and it has now gone past it's 30 days. I have spoken to CA who have helpfully informed me that ARCserve 2000 is no longer supported and I will need to buy the upgrade from ARCserve 2000 to Brightstor 11.

Has anyone else had experience of this? Any help/advice? My customer is none to pleased that we need to buy more software.

Many thanks in advance.

CA is always this helpfull. I think there is more bureaucracy at CA than it ever was in the old USSR....

Anyway,
According to this link:
AS 2000 and the Exchange Agent for Arcserve 2000 is not supporting Exchange 2003...
I guess your client will probably have to buy the upgrade or face the fact that they won't have a backed up system.

Best of luck
