Arcserve 2000 w/ Sql 7 database problems

I'm running Arcserve 2000(build 1050) on Win. Nt 4(sp5), using Sql 7.0(sp3)to store the database. When a new backup runs, any previous session information disappears from the database, showing only the latest sessions and the previous backup as destroyed for that date. I've spent countless hours on CA tech support, and they can only suggest to re-build the SQL indexes. This fixed nothing. Pruning is set to 15 days, but I don't believe this is a pruning problem. A.S. database size is at about 300 Megs, and is set to auto-grow. Harddrive space should not be a problem either.

This has been happening since we upgraded to Arcserve 2000. Has anyone had similar problems. Any help would be much appreciated.

Matt

hi matt,

I had the same problem,is there any progress...
please let me know

Yes, I solved the problem by reinstalling ArcServe and using the VLDB database instead. That got me half way there, I had trouble logging into the database.

Deleting the RNNAME system variable and rebooting fixed that. This link has tips for that problem, should you need it:

I don't know why, but Arcserve just seems to have trouble using the SQL server database. After swithing, my backups have (finally) been running smoothly.

Hope this helps,
Matt
