Hi all.

I've a ARCServe 2000 installed on a domain server (w2000). I've an other server, out of the domain (in a workgroup), where I've installed the TCP Agent.

Even if the Agent is running, the backup server can't see the agent's machine.

I've tried adding the workgroup manually and then the adding the server manually but the item is not browsable.

NOTE: using the FIND A PC form the search function in the Explorer I can brows the agent's machine.

Thanks, Stefano

The only way we have been able to backup a server in a work group is to use the prefered share option
this way you can input the IP address which will find the server much easier (obviously need to check the permissions, for the security you need to use the local account on the workgroup server which has administrator and backup operators rights on the workgroup machine) this needs to be input for example WORKGROUP\administrator.

I have found the browser has difficulty finding a server out of a domain, or non-trusted domain.

This worked for us and allowed us to use BAOF and Notes agent as well.
