Having throughput problem with Arcserve 2000 SP2 running on a Compaq ML 530 W2k sp2 server. I have a Adic DLT8000 autoloader connected via a Adaptec 29160 card and am only getting 163 mb per min. I have a seperate install running on a Compaq ML 370 same OS, same Arcserve, same DLT, but through the internal SCSI 2 controller and am getting 354mb per min. Same type of files as well. I have already updated all the drivers, any one have any Ideas?

I'm experiencing similar problems. I have a Compaq Proliant Dual Pentium III 550's and we only get around 140 MB/min backup on a device that claims it should be able to do 360 MB/min raw. We also are using a Adaptec 29160. Our performance with the Onboard SCSI was worse.

I ran into this, with both a 29160 and a 39160 on a W2K Dell 4-chip server.

The solution was to update drivers. Use the freshest drivers from Adaptec. Do not trust Microsoft to have it right.

Once I loaded the Adaptec current drivers, throughput on both went up to as fast as 550mb/m on my LTO.
