Hi there,

I have recently installed the SP5 service pack for arcserve 2000 and it would seem ever since some machines have been ignoring any node filtering requests, that is filtering out certain files extensions or directories. Not all machines do it, I have an exchange server that continued to be happy after this update, I have not rebooted since, as arcserve does not request to do so, as the servers are critical I am hesitent reboot servers for the sake of it, has anybody else had the same experience and is there a fix.

From my experience when we upgrade from Arcserve 2000 sp4 to Arcserve 9.0 the filters which we use with Arcserve 2000 doesn't work with Arcserve 9.0 like if we want to exclude in Arcserve 2000 sp4 all recent folders from all machines we use to put eg My Document\recent to exclude all recent under my document but this way is not working with Arcserve 9.0 since we have to put the exact path even if we put a filter to exclude only recent it exclude all recent folder from all machines.

I think this looks like your case after upgrading to SP5

what are excluding in your filter?

Hi there,

I originally had a filter F:\espresso\*.* , this is a node filter not global, but I have tried both and no joy.
