Hi all,

I run a copy job from a NT server to a win2k server (which is the host for Arcserve). After updating to SP4 (because jobs were not running) we seem to have the problem of Arcserve leaving sessions open after the copy job on the NT box.

It connects as a different user and leaves this user with an open session after the job has run. This has resulted in the PDC (NT box) running out of licences among other things. Not to good

Any suggestions? Arserve 9 worth it ?

Many thanks :)

i have not noticed any problems with open sessions with AS9.0 but i find it very easy to use and v good, i do run a copy job (exact same os, same direction etc just diff version of AS)

there is a post on this forum discussing v9.0/2000 somewhere.

unsure of what to suggest with your problem though... is it definately AS that is keeping the session open? how do you drop it manually?

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. I logon to the NT box and view current open files and sessions and drop the connections from there, not via AS.

I think I will go for AS9 but would like to know what it causing this :)
