Arcserve 2000 sp4 exch agent 99%

Arcserve 2000 sp4 exchange agent win nt 4.0 server. The job stops at 99% and hangs when I do a brick level backup. If I do not choose the exchange server, the job completes. This only just started. I have deleted and re-made the job. Anyone know how to fix this?

Does a full backup at the top level work?
If so, it is possible that you have a corruption in the mail store. You will need to take exchange offline and check it with the ese tools.
