I am unable to use a filter and ignore .tmp files. I don't like to see jobs end as incomplete. When I use the filter I am still getting errors in the log about the missed .tmp files. Has anyone encountered this problem?
Yes, I have seen this problem, too. I put in the filter for some *.tmp files, and on most of my servers, it works fine. However, on one or two of them, I'm still getting the error.
I haven't been able to prove what's going on, but it always seems to be the same .tmp file that flags the error, and others are skipped, so I'm suspecting that the file is already in some sort of weird locked state, or perhaps already open when I installed the BAOF, and that might be causing my problem. I'm suspecting, if that's it, a reboot should clear it up, but I have not had the opportunity to reboot the problem servers, as they are production.
I have also seen this problem. We are backing up 4 servers remotley with Arcserve 2000. We have exclude filters in place to exlcude the SQL datafiles. On two of the servers the fitlers work, on two of them they do not.
Even if I create seperate manual jobs the results are consistant.
I also experience the same problem. But it is consistent across the board. It has never worked for me. I only have it setup to exclude temp files on Terminal servers though.
