Arcserve 2000 Serverless Backup

Has anyone successfully used the Serverless backup Option?
I have a problem where the Serverless backup job keeps failing.
I configured the job using the wizard by enabling only D Drive with the option "Enable Database Recording".

This is what happens:

1. Connects to media
2. Formats media
3. Calculates the session
4. Backup Files. At this point a Failed Message appears and that is all, no other errors are recorded in the event or job logs.

What am I missing, any ideas?

Hello Lawton,
Just out of curiosity, could you check the data mover you guys are using. Serverless is very picky and will only work properly with specific firmware and driver versions.

Check out this link:

And check your data mover there.

If it is still a problem, or unsupported, we'll still try to work through it.

Now you say that you have checked the event and job logs for errors, but have you had a looksee in the activity log? If there was an error of some sort it might be a lot easier to attempt to reach resolution.

(email me the activity log found in the arcserve directory under the sub directory "logs". it is called ARCserve.log.) Also this log file will need to be zipped, and then email it to me to see if there is anything else going on.
