I have Arcserve 2000 installed on a windows NT4 server which is running exchange 5.5 SP3. Backing up of local files is working fine however when I try to backup. Two windows 2000 servers on the same domain they backup fails to access the server although the rest of the job completes. The backup account has all the required permissions and has no problem backing up two further WinNT 3.51 servers (one of which is the PDC) Both 2000 servers have the Open files agent installed and both servers are running terminal services and citrix metaframe 1.8. Could the problem be related to authentication problems between win2k and the NT 3.51 domain controllers? Also on the backup server I cannot get a full brick level backup to complete successfully. I've heard that if you previously had the version 6.61 exchange agent installed then you must remove this rather than upgrade. Unfortunately I heard this after I'd already upgraded, what will be the result of uninstalling both and then re-installing the 2000 agent? Please help this is causing my major hassle

POWER USERS?

Read the release notes (usually .wri files and .txt maybe .doc in the Arcserve directory) for ALL of the Arcserve components, ESPECIALLY the information about security in a mixed 2000/4 setup.
Let me know if this helps. jimpames@hotmail.com
