ARCserve 2000 Exchange Database Agent Configuration

In the Database agent for Exchange, Arcserve 7.0, you must choose between the option of "Named pipes" and "TCP/IP (for server level only)". Is the "Named pipes" for brick level backups and the "TCP/IP" for database level backups? Just making sure, so as I configure this correctly.
