Arcserve 2000 E8604 problem

Can any one help please. We are running Arcserve 2000 and Backing up an Exchange 2000 box.Backup runs fine until about half way through backing up individual mailboxes. It then return
E8604 Failed to start Backup, then gives path to individuals name.

Any help would be gratefully received

If not try to specify you problem a bit more. The "E"-Number is not as important as the "EC"-Number.
