Arcserve 2000 DR problem

We are running AS2000 ADV DR option SP3 on a W2K SP2 server with a Mammoth EZ-17 drive. I am attempting a test remote DR on a Dell PE 2550 with a PERC3DCI HW-based RAID controller running NT SRVR SP6a; it is a BDC. I have created the DR disks and was able to see the restore image on the tape, load the OEM PERC3 driver, and create the partition, but after I click on the Begin Disaster Recovery button, there is a short period of disk/CDROM activity on the Dell, then nothing. The DR progress meter never shows any progress and the DR window sits there indefinitely. The tape loads, but it appears to never begin reading from tape. The only way to recover is to power off the server.

Any suggestions would be most welcome.
