I am currently attempting to do a DR using Arcserve 2000 service pack 3. The DR goes fine untill i get to the actual DR Wizard and it just keeps on asking for the media, which it does have.
I am using windows 2000 Advanced Server Service pack 2 on a Compaq Proliant ML570, and backing up on a Compaq 40/80 DLT Tape Array III.
Any help would be greatly appreciated as big bad boss man has given me a deadline.

Cheers
Andy

One very important thing. Did you do the backup of the client using computer name resolution? Oh is this remote or local, I am assuming remote.

It is a local backup of the server itself, the server has been set up, backed up and then has to be capable of being DR'd before going into service, i'm beginning to wonder if it may be anything to do with the tape array?

I am having/have had this same problem with the ArcServe disaster recovery kits using Compaq ML 370's and DDS4 tape drives when trying to perform a local backup/dr for a Win2K server.

I'm really frustrated [nosmiley] with CA support who simply have a script which says the same thing the docuementation says, and then refer you the the CA patch page.

My compaq system is now AS2K SP4+SP4DR and it still does the same thing yours does. I hope someone familiar with this will help.

djconroy,

I replied to your other post also. Please contact me so I can see exactly what your frustrations are. Just drop a note that I engaged you here.
