I can't start the database engine. Deleted rdm.chk and rdm.chi, and the pruning job. Please help!!

Delete any RAAAAAA*.chg files in the DB folder.
Would also be useful to put the DB into debug - add the following to the registry:
HKLM / SOFTWARE / COMPUTERASSOCIATES / ARCSERVEIT / BASE / DATABASE Reg_Dword value DEBUG data 1
That should give you a more comprehensive error record in the arcserve.log and rds.log files.

Could be difficult running the DB utilities if the engine wont start.
You may have to manually re-initialise the DB and recover from your last good backup. Then you should be able to run the utilities on the DB.
