Arcserve 2000 Client service wont start 1

I have a 2000 member server. The client agent will not start. I'm using sytem account. I have tried the Admin account and I get the same thing. The error is the following. Could not start Client Agent for Arcserve service on Local Computer. Error 1067: The process terminated Unexpectantly.
Has anyone seen this?

Check whether the product is licensed... Once its regsitered you will get rid of this porblem... DatabaseBaba...

The one thing that i have done is. In the properties of the arcserve agent, you can tell it to login in as the local or a domain account. I have done this on several occasions (NT4&W2K) and it works. However, not always will this work. I believe that the registry has ghost remnents remaining in the registry. The other thing that I have noticed that work is Agent needs a LOG folder under the root.

I am still having problems with one of my servers W2K that doesnt want to start despite these tricks that i have discovered. If anyone knows solidly what works besides what i have stated here please post it here so that all can benefit from this.
