ArcServe 11.5 Sp3 and Linux

I'm using ArcServe 11.5 SP3 on Win 2k3 SP2 Server backing up four Linux Servers with 11.5 SP3 agents ....a test backup and restore was successful however my Unix Admin informed me that the files were restored to their original locations however owner and file security were changed ??
Did I miss something when I setup the backup job options ?
Could this be related to the Linux backup user account used to authenticate the agents ?

yes more likely it is related to the security information supplied, because the agent should preserve all attributes and security information should be preserved.
