ArcServe 11.0 skip bad tapes or restart job? 2

Is it possible to configure ArcServe 11.x to restart a backup job or skip a bad tape if it encounters tape errors on a job? Our tape library has multiple blank tapes available. Sometimes a bad tape is encountered in a job. I would like the job to continue or even restart if it encounters tape read/verify errors. We need to get monthly full backups and this is difficult if one tape in the middle of the job goes bad. Seems like there should be an option to try a new tape.

If the drive errors out the job will be canceled and thats it. You can configure the job to retry missed targets.

You can use a setting in the ARCserve Server Admin as follows:

Configure a device group in the tape library, name it to REDIRECT and put some blank media into the group (enough to contain one full backup).

Go to the server admin, then choose admin-configuration-job engine.
Enable the setting for 'local job redirection', then put all device groups into the selection bar (separated by a comma), except for the group REDIRECT.

This way ARCserve will redirect jobs that fail due to bad or unavailable media to the REDIRECT group and will continue the backup (it will NOT start over like a makeup job).

Hope I'm clear

regards
