Arcserv backup hangs on first file.

I am running Arcserv 6.61 build 834 on winNT4.0 SP6 w/exchange5.5.
Backups used to run ok. Then started getting "Incomplete" backups. I deleted the backup and then started new one from scatch. That worked for awhile.

Now when the backup session hangs even at the first file. Example: It'll hang backing up the Autoexec.bat file.

Things I've done:
Checked the Open Agent, that looks file.
Uninstall Archerve/Reinstall
Different settings in the backup option menu

Any of your help would be great! This forum is better then CAI's tech support. Thanks in advance.

Scour the arcserve logs for any error codes, set up the arcserve tape log option to detail screen and file in the arcserve server manager.
Scour the arcserve tape.log for any scsi port erros.
Debug levels can be set in the registry for more detailed reporting.
I understand you can't even get a backup from the native os i.e. not through the agent, so it seems unlikely that it's software.
