Arcserv 6.61 - E8601 Failed to connect agent

Hello.
In the beginning arcserv6.61 brick level backup of exchange 5.5 worked fine, BUT then I configured Directory Replication in Exchange 5.5 and now I get the error message:

E8601 Failed to connect agent (AGENT = dbaxchg2, EC=402)

and the brick level backup does not work at all.

When removing Directory Replication the backup works fine again.
One possible cause for this error message is the 'Hide' option in the administrators mailbox, this option is not active.

Can anyone help?

We are having the same problem. Has anybody found a solution for this.

Make sure that you have patched Arcserve to the current levels. Below is an example of a recent update to the Exchange Agent. If afer following the directions you still experience the problem, gather up all the system info and be prepared to run some test jobs with all debug facilities enabled.

For ArcserveIT 6.61, there are no recent patches for the Exchange agent. I would also try to uninstall and re-install the Exchange agent after Directory Replication has been enabled. Make sure the DBAGENT mailbox is not hidden (Arcserve does not support a hidden dbagent mailbox) and make sure no mail connectors are selected for backup.
