Archiving within an Archive problem

I have a user who archived within their archive not once, not twice, but 5 times! Now, I am trying to access the original archive to c&p it all but her archive archive archive archive archive is empty. When I look at the log, and select an archived email, it says document has been deleted. Is there a way to recover her original archive or a way to select the parent and then delete the children without deleting the entire archive?
