Hi, does anyone know if it is possible to archive voicemails in Mer Mail. a few users have like 60 messages fro certain people that they keep for different reasons and don't want to delete them. I am wondering if I can archive them in a file of on a tape to give to that user so they can maybe play them back.

Also how often should a backup be done? Is there any maintenance that one should do that is important?

Thanks
switchy

You are able to back up certain mailboxes etc, but this goes onto the system back up tape.

If you really want them to save them to a tape then I suggest using a phone with a tape recorder attached, then they can play the messages and record them.

We back our mail up every night and change the tape weekly.

It's not getting any smarter out there. You have to come to terms with stupidity, and make it work for you.

We back up data every night and a full data and voice backup weekly.

i have had request for this type of service, without call pilot, the best way i have found was to dial the vm from the users pc and play, record or copy messages from a softphone application. There are dozens out there that do the same thing as an answer machine. of course you have to give the user an analog line to there desk top..
