Archiving files before radically changing them

Hi,
I am currently experimenting a lot in building an application in JBuilder 7 EE, and i find myself completely scraping code from a file and replacing it with a completely different set of code. I want to somehow archive the old file before commiting the radical change so that I can bring the old file quickly if i wanted to. What would be the best way to do that in JBuilder?
