Archiving Exchange (.ost) clients

I'm running XP SP2, OL2K3 SP1 running Exchange with Off Line enabled. I need to clean out excessive email from server so autoarchiving sounds right but with using .ost not .pst I can't get a test folder to archive. Does archive work on ost files? Thanks in advance.

*** Fix what's broken, whether it's a machine or a process. People don't need to be burdened by problems that could be corrected.
