ArchiveXtender problem

I'm using ArchiveXtender to manage a Plasmon Jukebox on my Windows NT 4.0 server. We use 2.5 GB double sided Optical Disks.

We recently had a "Backup Disk Full" alert about a couple of weeks back for Volume 457/458 but the Backup Disk was never ejected. Then, we had another "Backup Disk Full" alert for a different set of volumes (459/460). We then tried to eject the first backup disk (457/458) but suddenly the free space of the disk went up to 2.5GB and then it slowly started to come down again as if it was trying to fill up the backup disk again. While it was doing this, we ejected the second backup disk (459/460) without any problems. It took a while for the free space of backup disk 457/458 to come down again and then we got another "Backup Disk Full" alert again for the same volume but the alert message nows states volume "458/457". It reversed the volumes (i.e. before the alert states 457/458). But, at last, we were now able to eject the backup disk for these volumes (457/458)!

One thing that worries me though is that the Original Disk free space for volume 457 is 450KB but the backup disk free space is 780KB. The same goes for volume 458. Does this mean that the Backup Disk is not an exact copy of the Original (i.e. there's more data on the Original than the Backup).

Can anyone explain this?

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks
