hello.
I have been put on a project with limitations, adn I am confused how to get it done.
1.) We have set our outlook to auto archive every 15 days to \\%localmachine%\c$\emailarchive\%username%.pst because people still want to keep archives.
my company wants me to backup all the archives, what is my best option. I tried creating a script to go to all machines adn copy to a central location, I created a share for myself, the user and a admin acct, the script works under admin account but sometimes has trouble conneting a machine, also this script does not tell me who failed. Is their a better option out thier?

If you want to back things up, move the mail back to the mailboxes. Email worth backing up is worth having in the Information Store. You're creating FAR more work for yourself and your backup solution to do anything else.

I agree. But we are running Exchange 2003 Standard. we have a 100 users, who at one point were almost @ 60gb of use. Unfortunetly their are some rules I cant change, so I need to find the best solution for what we can do.

You're better off looking at an Exchange archiving solution, PSTs are the root of all evil.

Yep. I agree. You lose a lot of functionality and stability by using .pst files.

What are recommended Exchange Archive Solutions?
Any good recommendations?

Apparently there are others

But to be honest, it is cheaper and less stress for the users to hit Exchange Enterprise, buy some more shiny new disks and get a bigger tape drive.
