Archive (.pst) problem

Hi

When a user is attempting to archive his mailbox in Outlook to a .pst file, he gets the following error after it has archived about half of the necessary items:

"Archive skips store due to error. Failed to open a source store"

Anyone seen this before?

The workstation is NT4, running Outlook 98, connecting to Exchange 5.5 and all of the systems have the latest service packs on them. The archive file is on the users home drive on a network server.

Did you ever figure out the reason for the error? I have a user in the same boat.

.pst files are unsupported for network use -- local drives only, no LAN or WAN. I guess the only solution for centralized storage of Outlook files is an Exchange server.

Anyone?
