Hi all ,

I have trouble with one application, it generates large Logfiles. But when the Disk is full , the app hang up.

Under Linux you could use logrotate.
Wich archives and manage any logfiles. eg. send via mail

Is there any tool on aix side, wich could the same.
I am searching for a free of charge solution.

Or is it possible to portate it from Linux to AIX.

Any Tips are quite helpfull.
Thanks in advance

There may well be some equivalent of logrotate for AIX, but in the meantime, you could try using a cronjob to compress the files on a regular basis (mines searches and compresses every 10 minutes), at least saving you some space. Presumably, after a period these log files can be deleted or archived to tape or another disk? HTH.

Mamy thanks,

I thought the same with a cronjob, but i thougt also that there might be an other solution.

With regards.

Nice thank you very much :)

Best regards,
