archive log size triples up

I have added some new tables and new proceeses to my application. This has increased the dataflow.
Earlier my archive log size was 2 gb now it isaorund 7-8 gb on certain days.

What can i attribute this to. Certain tables in my database has 4000K records and i am updating these tables. The issue started after i created a table which used around 8gn of disk space in terms of data. I update and insert into this table. There are also 3 bitmap indexes and 4 other indexes on this table

are you referring to the size of your archive files. What is the size of your online log files,as your archivelogs should be the same size (assuming you have not set init.ora parameters or issues alter susyem switch logfile

examples of parameters which can determine the size of logfiles are
log_checkpoint_timeout
log_checkpoint_interval
fast_start_mttr_target
