We are running GW5.5 and installed SP2 about 3 months ago. Within the last few months, we've developed archive issues with some of our users. One user in particular who has an archive setting of 30-days has now lost all archived messages, even the cabinet folders are gone. In doing a search on archive, I was only able to find sent items with dates of 10/17 and 10/18 nothing else. Anyone have ideas on this. Other users are losing blocks of messages, one has lost 3 months, then it picks back up.

Thanks and
Happy Thanksgiving!

I have found that users who lost blocks of archives have inadvertantly selected auto delete instead of auto archive their email during that time. Check to see if this was selected.

Have you ran ofcheck on the users archive database? The archive file is actually a database and if there are errors within it the ofcheck utility will usually take care of it. Don't know other than that....

*end users are just like computers, some you can work with...others just need a simple reBOOTing to fix their problems.*

Sobak.... you shouldn't run Ofcheck on GW 5.5 data. Should use GWcheck instead.

Okay my mistake, thanks for pointing that out. Unfortunately I have a tendancy to call them the same. Sure doesn't help others when I'm attempting to assist them. Thanks again for pointing that out.

Sobak (David e) I do the same thing all the time. Novell likes to change things so that we really are screwed up. Hope I didn't offend. :)

Never offended :>) You're just keeping me on my toes...

sometimes they inadvertantly change there path for the archive in the client. If they do this there can be a second archive out there. Check to see if they have two ofde8arc directories.
