Hi all,
I need help on two questions:
1-Is it true that even the message is sent to 10 users groupwise keeps just one pointer to the attachement, you will not have 10 copy of the same attachement in the groupwise database? If it is true, I can archive 10 GB and find my self with 30 GB of data
2-for the groupwise policies, are you letting the database growing without any control?
Thanks
Noor

1. yes this is true - but if you archive then i would imagine that the attachment would have to be copied to this - as it's just offline personal storage - it's leaving the confines of the message store or for this person it is

2. set to delete after 90 nights for everything , trash goes after 7 days, auto archiving isnt allowed - if they want to keep something then they need to achive it manually - the average user doesnt archive anything

i know certainly the only think i archive is hotel bookings and flight receipts and thats it

We auto-archive after 30 days to a nice fat (not FAT!) disk sitting there for just that. Being a govt. entity, we have to try to comply with the Open Records Act and you never know when someone might request a 2-year-old correspondence.

This is also why I insist on RAID1 everywhere.
