ARC2K Exchange Agent Error

Hi ya all,

Can anyone tell me why sometimes, I get
E8602 Failed to read from database. (DBNAME=Second Storage Group, EC=Backup Agent Error -- (356) "Exchange Server Error. HrESEBackupSetup failed. Mount the databases before backup.
E8604 Failed to start backup. (DBNAME=Second Storage Group, EC=Backup Agent Error -- (361) "Exchange Server Error. HrESEBackupInstanceEnd failed.

But the other storage groups on the boxes don't have an issue???

Can you check if there are any other running actions on the Exchange server when backing up (like maintenance utilities)?? ARCserve Exchange Agent comunicates with Exchange Server's ESE (Extensible Storage Engine) to backup the databases and it seems that ESE cannot grant the agents requests.

Are the Storage Groups (Exchange 2000 Server) mounted when doing backup?

Knutern -yes they are mounted, It backs up the first storage group no problems, it just one occasions fails on the second storage group.

Cyklops - so your saying that something running at the same time is ,locking out the agent?

Stat1c - did you ever get this resolved? I am having the same problem. It seems that this error happens intermitently.
