ARC-9 backup to disk

Hos do i backupt data to a large disk store where i can then backup to a tape unit. I am trying to backup to the disk during the day when there is not much going on then backup directaly attached to the tape during the night to cut backup and restore time.

Can anyone help.

Here's how I do this using BrightStor Enterprise backup.

1) Create some folders to hold your backup data.

2) Use Device Configuration to create file system devices, point to the folders created in 1.

3) Create/run a backup job to write to the file system devices. These will be assigned to a Device Group. Just regard these as tapes.

4) Use tapecopy command line utility to copy the "tapes" on disk to real tapes.
