AR Balance other than at present time 1

Hiya,
I'm writing a macro to generate a custom report; in that macro I want to get the AR Balance for a customer account at a time in the past. Is this reasonable to attempt using ADO (so far it seems not) - and if not what is a reasonable alternative?

Use the AR aging view, you can set a cutoff date and get the balance as at a certain date.
