Hallo All,

Was just handed an old server, and trying to get it up to speed. This is a debian sarge box used as a backup mail server (per 'lifewithqmail' ).

Doing an apt-get update, then an apt-get upgrade I get a long list of packages that have been 'kept back'. My guess is because these cannot be upgraded as they are entirely new versions. Here is a quick look at the list:

apache apache-common apt apt-utils base-config bind9-host bsdgames console-common console-tools cpp debconf dnsutils dpkg e2fsprogs exim expect file g++
gcc gnupg groff-base iamerican ibritish ifupdown ispell libgdbmg1 libgmp3 libgmp3-dev libldap2 libpng2 lilo ltrace lynx man-db mc mount mysql-client
netbase ppp pppoeconf python python-newt reportbug spamassassin ssh sysvinit tasksel telnet util-linux vacation webmin webmin-apache webmin-cpan
webmin-mysql wenglish whiptail whois xfree86-common xlibs

Is there a way to safely get these updates installed?
