I say this has to be the best April Fools day joke they could have done:

All the debates they've sparked about whether or not this is for real...I'd bet a ton that they specifically planned this to look like a joke, when it's really the real thing. I might be wrong, but think about it--this is just what Google needs right now after Yahoo broke away to do its own engine.
