Here is a strange problem... Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I have a DFS Root on a server that contains several DFS links to other shares on the network. These other shares contain executables for network apps that are run in my environment.
When I map a drive letter to \\servername\share and then run the application from the drive letter, the application runs immediately.
When I map a drive letter to \\DOMAIN\DFSROOT\share (which is actually the same share as above), and then run the application from the drive letter, the application prompts to open or save the executable. It does not launch it immediately.
According to Microsoft documentation, you need to deselect the option to "Always ask before opening this type of file" but this is grayed out.
Although this condition does not cause a problem with the application, it is a nuisance. Does anybody know how to disable this "security" feature?
