One of our clients, has asked me to provide assistance to them regarding their Point of Sale (POS) data for one of their largest customers.

This client does category business management as a service to some of their Trading Partners. The Director of Category Business Management at the client feels that if he could receive “sales $” and “margin $” along with the Point of Sale (POS) data they currently get (via an 852 EDI transaction), they would be able to greatly improve the service they provide.

We are currently researching the possibility of using the POS (852) transaction to transmit the “sales $” and “margin $,” but at first glance, it did not seem that the data was “compatible.” Is anyone aware of any other EDI transactions that is appropriate for this type of data?

Thanks,
Annette

abock,
not entirely sure what you are trying to accomplish.
your client is doing vmi for their customer? it is usually the customer that dictates specs to the supplier - but if you have it this way it's great. you are in control.
do they currently trade edi docs?
regards,
longhair
