We have multiple users that connect to streaming media sites to listen to music in an office of about 60 people (about a third of users might be streaming). We have a T1, and speed has not been a problem, but we want to prevent any problems that may develop. How much bandwidth per user is taken up by any type of streaming media? Have not had too many dealings with this; is there a way to measure it, or can we assume a certain amount? Thanks in advance

put it this way.. if you had a 3mbs connection.. you would be using most of that pipe..

you should not allow streaming music.. it kills server proformance.. and its espetally bad if you have a RAID aray..

its just tedious work your server does not have to do.. i would suggest that if you want your users to lisin to music.. that they bring in a cd.. and use windows media player.. find out the ports of the diffrent streaming media players.. and block thoes at a router or switch..

hope this helps
