I have been reading that an appripriate use of tables in xhtml/css would be to display "tabluar data"

my questions is whether a calendar would be considered "tabular data"?

7x7 table, that dynamically updates via .asp code to show correct month, and days.

I'd consider using non-table structures for a calendar... and probably throw the code away afterward. The actual CSS and markup required is probably *more* than using a table... and as long as you have a well marked up accessible table (here is a great link on accessible tables then I see nothing wrong with a table in this way.

Calendars and Financials. That's about the extent of it.

One day there will be better tabular data support... and we can all forget about these kinds of dilemmas :)

Cheers,
Jeff

thanks both for the input. I was hoping that you would say that! I wasn't looking forward to using css for this if you guys had made a good argument! [smile2]

If a calendar isn't tabular data then nothing is.
