Approach - drawing bar not working

hi,
Iin design menu.. some time i cannot use the drawing bar. I can change the layout screen but the drawing bar was protected. i want to design i should create-drawing and select text, line, ellipse,rectangle or rounded rectangle but i cannot create button bar or check box.

What release of Approach are you using, and which version of Windows? With that information I can see if this is a known problem and if there are workarounds or fixes.
