I have a user who sets up an appointment but the recipients are getting emails and not appointment messages. If she sends me the appointment it is fine. If someone else sends the recipients an appointment it is fine too. Seems to be exclusive to this one person. I have checked for rules and they have none.

There's an old TID on the Novell knowledgebase (dated 2001) about this issue.
Document 10007641 (Appointment item is received as mail item)
It says the fix is:
1) Rebuild domain database
2) Rename the WPHOST.DB and rebuild the post office
3) Synchronize Users
Not sure if this will help but it may still be applicable.
