Hi
I have a user with a HP XE3i laptop with Win 2000 Pro installed. Every 2-3 startups, the login process gets to 'Applying security settings' and will sit there for about 20 minutes. If you try to cancel this by re-starting the machine and re-booting it will keep re-occuring until it successfully goes through the process.
After it has logged on to the local machine successfully, the next boot-up is usually ok with 'Applying Security Settings' taking the correct amount of time. Then after another couple of re-boots the above problem is repeated.
Anyone seen this before or have any ideas of the cause.
Thanks in advance
Martin
