applying date range on report

I'm trying to get total sales for specific times on a report, for some reason I keep getting just the current year numbers. I created a formula (Parameter) indicating which year I will want and still it gives me the current year numbers...how can I do this?

Check your record selection formula. It should look something like;

year({datefield}={?yearparameter}
