Applying computer settings takes forever

After joining XP SP2 pc's to SBS 2003 domain the Applying computer settings part takes forever.
XP is pointing to local DNS and not ISP DNS.
SBS GPO's are set to default

Any other ideas?

When it finally comes up, check the event log for errors, then let us know what errors there are.

Also, check the services to see if there is a service stuck at "starting" or something.
