Apply XSL templates based on root node value 1

How can I apply a template based on the value of the root node? For example, if the root node 'ABC', apply one template, but if the root node is 'CDE', apply a different template.

Not much differnt from the previous thread.
Just use some specific templates for different "mode" corresponding to different local-name of the root, set by xsl:param targetroot or directly hard-scripted to the template matching "/*".

What have you worked with my post in the said thread? or your instructor has asked you a different question by now?
 
I came looking for my last thread and couldn't find it, and so assumed it hadn't submitted properly and posted again. Sorry about that!
