I've got a notebook with Office XP. It was a Network Installation from a server that no longer exists - and won't be coming back (the company no longer exists, but the software was legally licensed at the time).
I would like to apply SP2 to Office on this notebook. Microsoft states that it can't be done without the Administrative Installation Point. What does the user community say? Googling resulted in a few possible workaround, none of which worked.
