How do you apply a security group that has already been created in AD to a folder that the same script creates? I'm stuck!

Well, unless you only have 1 domain controller or the group you are creating is on the local machine, you will have to wait for replication. Between DC's in the same site, the replication interval is between 15 and 30 seconds. If the DCs are in different sites, then you may have to wait many hours (based on configuration).

It sounds like you are creating the group and then remotely connecting to a server to apply the permission, but that server is authenticating against a different DC.

Sorry if I wasnt clear.

We have multiple DC's in a single domain
The security group was created in AD

I need a script that will create a folder structure and then apply multiple users or a security group to it as permissions.

I hope that clears it up.

Take a look at my bog where I offer sample code to do this.

I hope you find this post helpful.

Mark
